Prof G. SHORE BSc(Edin),PhD (Cantab)
Born in Manchester, Graham was educated in Scotland and
obtained his B.Sc. in Mathematical Physics from the
University of Edinburgh ,
where he was awarded the Tait medal.
He carried out research for his Ph.D. at
DAMTP and
King's College ,
University of Cambridge ,
on quantum field theory in curved spacetime.
Together with post-doctoral appointments at
Harvard ,
Cornell,
Imperial College
and the Universities of
Bern and
Geneva , he spent five years
as a Research Fellow and Associate in the Theory Division at
CERN , Geneva.
His research interest is quantum field theory applied
to elementary particle physics and gravity.
He enjoys the opportunities physics offers to travel extensively
and has visited Australia and Brasil as well as the U.S.
and Europe. Apart from travel, his other interests include
alpine activities (hiking, skiing, etc), sports, amateur
philosophy, theatre, sitting in cafes watching the
world go by ...
Current research interests :
Renormalisation group, anomalies and geometry in quantum field
theory; conformal symmetry; quantum field theory, black holes
and cosmology; U(1) anomaly and QCD phenomenology;
supersymmetry; composite models and dynamical symmetry breaking.
