Dr Warren B. Perkins, M.A. Ph.D. (Cantab)
After attending secondary school near Manchester, studied physics at Trinity College
Cambridge, where he developed a keen interest in rowing. Remaining in Cambridge, where he
completed his Ph.D. in 1991, and after research work at the University of Sussex, moved to
Swansea in 1993. His research interests centre on the particle physics of the early universe,
in particular exotic processes occurring in the extreme conditions immediately after the big
bang. Outside physics he enjoys hill walking, home brewing and supporting Notts County.
