Physics at Swansea is EXCELLENT!

University departments are audited by the government funding councils to examine the quality of teaching. During a week long visit, our teaching methods and practices were examined in detail by an outside panel.

We received the highest possible overall grade

Excellent

In particular they commented that "Students were studying in a friendly and supportive environment with the staff, regardless of seniority, being extremely approachable and friendly." Our degree schemes are "well structured and designed" and we gave "well presented, enthusiastic lectures with quality of explanation being high". Overall many aspects continue to contribute to a strong positive departmental academic ethos". We are pleased that our commitment to providing a friendly and supportive environment to learning physics has been recognised. We are the only physics department in Wales to have achieved this, highest possible, grade.
