By Train

If arriving at London Heathrow, you can take the (expensive but quick) Heathrow Express to London Paddington Station. Trains operat once every hour from London Paddington to Swansea. This takes about three hours and Swansea is the last stop. Swansea is the western end of the London Paddington-Swansea rail-line.

Tickets for the entire journey from Heathrow to Swansea (via Paddington) and back can be purchased online from National Rail.

Note that train tickets can be very expensive depending on time of the day - it is best to pre-book.

The best/quickest way to get to the University ( mention ``Fulton House'' as the drop-off point) from the train station is by taxi, which will cost 5-7 pounds at most. The taxi stand is at the back of the station. Morgans hotel is a 15 minute walk from the train station, and a two minute taxi ride.

A slightly cheaper option is the ftrmetro bus (the ``BENDY BUS'', no. 4), which connects the railway station to Swansea University and Singleton Hospital via the city centre.

By car

Swansea is just off the M4 motorway, connecting London and Wales. It takes about three hours to drive from the outskirts of London to Swansea.

In Swansea

See the location page of the University or the annotated map. The Conference will take place in the Margam Building (Building 9.4) Lecture Room 311, the offices of the Physics Department are on floor 5 and 6 of the Vivian Tower (Building 11.2). The main building for food and information is Fulton House (Building 17), the glass-fronted building overlooking the lawn. There are several buses between the University and the City centre (nrs 2A, 3A, 4). With three or more people, a taxi is often cheaper and more convenient.
