The URL for the Physics Department Home Page is www.swan.ac.uk/physics

If your computer has been assigned an ip number in the range 137.44.146.* then you'll need to set up your proxy server using the following instructions:

General Browser

• In the preferences of your browser, find the proxy setting (it may be in an "Advanced Settings" tab
• set the HHTP proxy to wwwcache.swan.ac.uk port 3128

Microsoft Internet Explorer

I believe, though I haven't checked that you should do something like:

• Begin by starting Internet Explorer
• Go to the Tools menu item and select Internet Options
• Go to the Connections tab
• Near the bottom, click on the LAN Settings... button
• In the Proxy server section, put wwwcache.swan.ac.uk in the Address: box, and put 3128 in the Port: box.
• Click OK to everything to exit

That's all you need to do!!
