Kepler's Laws of Planetary Motion

Copernicus's theory was reasonably well read and understood however it was not generally beleived. In the following century the work of Kepler and Gallileo provided strong evidence which eventually settled the matter in favour of the Heliocentrisists. First, of course, data was required. During 1576-1597 the Danish astronomer Tyco Brahe tabulated the positions of the planets with great accuracy. Upon his death in 1601 these records passed to his assistant Johannes Kepler Based upon this accurate data he produces a series of three laws of planetary motion which described the motion of planets.
